Grace Cavalieri is the author of 16 books and chapbooks of poetry, the most recent are: Casa farei per Amore:Poesie Dalla Voce Di Mary Wollstonecraft (Jacaranda Press, 2012;) Gotta Go Now (Casa Menendez, 2012;) Millie's Sunshine Tiki Villas, A Novella in Verse (Casa Menendez, 2011;)Navy Wife (Casa Menendez, 2010;) Anna Nicole: Poems (A Menendez Publication,2008,) Water on the Sun (Bordighera Press, 2006,) What I Would Do For Love (Jacaranda Press, 2003,) Cuffed Frays (Argonne House Press, 2001,) Sit Down Says Love (Argonne House Press, 1999). Pinecrest Rest Haven has become a popular favorite with readers because of its bittersweet theme. Its prose poems tell the story of Mr. and Mrs. P who no longer remember they're married. In the Old Folks Home we meet the crafty Coco and Muriel who are always running after Mr. P, much to the dismay of Mrs. P. We find the human qualities which have existed since Shakespeare's time: lust, greed, betrayal, rivalry, although the residents might not always know who they are. Love and the staving off of loss makes this an unforgettable book. One critic called Pinecrest Rest Haven "rum and champagne."
