Robin (R. J.) Dunn was born in Edinburgh, Scotland, in 1950 and was raised and initially educated in Ghana, a country he still visits. He majored in Linguistic and Phonetics at the University of Edinburgh – perhaps unsurprising for someone who had already begun a consuming relationship with words and their meaning. In a sense, words also led to his subsequent career in international publishing and, latterly, bookselling. He moved to the United States in the 1990s and continued to write, concentrating on publishing books and articles on his other love – aviation. Poetry remained a passion, however, and his first collection of poems appeared in 2025. He lives in Annapolis, Maryland.

William Heath has published five poetry books: The Walking Man, Steel Valley Elegy, Going Places, Alms for Oblivion, Prime Time; three chapbooks, Night Moves in Ohio, Leaving Seville, Inventing the Americas; three novels: The Children Bob Moses Led (winner of the Hackney Literary Award), Blacksnake's Path, and Devil Dancer; a work of history, William Wells and the Struggle for the Old Northwest (winner of two Spur Awards and the Oliver Hazard Perry Award); and a collection of interviews, Conversations with Robert Stone. In 2023 he received a Lifetime Achievement Award from Hiram College. He and his wife Roser Caminals, a Catalan novelist, live in Annapolis. www.williamheathbooks.com
